Glastonbury Registration for the 2020 Festival

Glastonbury Festival Registration 2017

If you are planning on going to Glastonbury Festival in 2020 you need to get your skates on and register as soon as possible. This isn’t the Glastonbury Festival ticket sales, it’s just the registration and it is free. All you need is a photograph of yourself on a plain background and you just upload it to this site and fill in a few details about the name, phone number, email address and other details like that. If you have already registered for a previous festival you can use the same log in for next year. The reason they introduced the registration was to stop ticket touts buying up hundreds and hundreds of Glastonbury tickets and then reselling them. It seems to work very well, but do be aware that if you miss the last day of registration it will be impossible to get a ticket, at the time of writing it is December 2019, so right now is a good time to register.

Glastonbury Festival 2020 is taking place between Wednesday June 24th and Sunday June 28th, 2019. Further information about tickets for the 2020 Glastonbury Festival will be released on the official site later in 2019. To buy tickets, you will need to register first.

The actual sale of Glastonbury Festival tickets happens later on in the year, if this follows the pattern of previous years, we are probably looking at the first weekend of October in 2019. When you book your tickets you will be able to pay a £50 deposit (that was correct for the 2015 festival) for each person and the Festival. For each registration you can book 6 tickets. It is not possible to pay for the entire ticket in October, only the deposit is required. This will allow people more time to save up for their tickets but at the same time they will be safe in the knowledge that they have secured a ticket. The balance of the ticket payment is usually due in the first week of April 2020.

General tips for making sure that you get a ticket are as follows:

  • Have all your registration details to hand – details from 2016 or earlier should be OK
  • try booking both online and by phone and ….
  • above all stay calm.

Last year my nephew had planned a large trip with 24 friends. So they all got together with eight laptops and four phones and managed to secure their 24 tickets within 10 minutes of the opening of the booking.

If you’re planning to go to Glastonbury 2019 by motorhome then you can book your motorhome in advance and just pay a £99 deposit which will guarantee the hire of your motorhome. If for any reason you don’t get a ticket, the £99 is refunded back to you straight away. So you can reserve your motorhome today and then hopefully everything will go to plan when the tickets go on sale.

Do remember though,  the last day of registration for Glastonbury Festival comes up pretty quickly. If you have registered for Glastonbury 2016 or an earlier one you can use the same details, but you will need to go to the Glastonbury Festival registration website and check that your existing registration is still valid. Glastonbury 2017 was an amazing weekend, so let us look forward to a wonderful and hopefully sunny, or at least dry, Glastonbury 2019.

Just a heads up that Glastonbury isn’t on in 2018 as it’s a fallow year for the farm.

We’ll see, it is supposed to be, but sometimes the idea of making shedloads of money becomes more appealing 😉 There’s definitely been some fallow years missed in the past.
