Elddis Suntor 400
The Elddis Suntor 400 is a 4 berth motorhome. It has a standard righ hand drive is rather easy to drive as it is less than 20ft long. The chassis and engine are made by Peugeot and anybody who has driven one of the Peugeot Boxer vans wil feel instantly at home in this motorhome. It is the standard Peugeot Boxer 2.2. diesel engine which isn’t the turbo charged one. Consequently you will find this to be good on fuel, but don’t expect to race up long inclines like you would with a turbo diesel.
The sleeping arrangement is a double over cab bed and a rear lounge that can be converted into another double or two singles.
For somebody on a budget of say £10k to £20k looking for a well cared for 10 year old motorhome, something like a used ex rental Elddis Suntour 400 could be an ideal vehicle. To be on the safe side, why not hire one first and see how you get on with it?
This was actually the first coachbuilt motorhome that I ever drove once my family was complete. My thoughts were that I would have preferred it to have bunk beds at the rear for the children rather than making up seperate singles. The other thing that did not suit my family at the time was that with the central kitchen, my passengers seemed a long way away when I was driving. My children were very young at the time and I would preferred them to be in a mid-lounge area. These are my thoughts only, I could see this being an excellent vehicle for a couple who like to entertain friends and generally chill out in their motorhome.
