The National Feast of Lanterns 2011

Feast of Lanterns

Feast of Lanterns

This August Bank holiday weekend we are off to the Camping and Caravanning Clubs annual Feast of Lanterns, an event in its 86th year. The Feast of Lanterns is the highlight of the annual camping season for most members of the club and, as such is only open to members. Membership though is just £39 for the year for a family. You then pay a small fee for any events such as this that you wish attend.

We have not attended before, but the event promises a World Record attempt for the most Robin Hoods in one place, seven different entertainment venues including a ceilidh one evening, a Mardi Gras and a parade and Festival of Lights. There is a beach for the young children and a foam party disco for the teenagers.

Then there is the ‘Glastonbury style’ party in the park for the aging rockers amongst us!

With some trade stalls and entertainment and fun over 4 nights, there should be plenty to talk about next week!
